At Baler Primary School, students learn Bahasa Indonesia as a compulsory subject from Year 3 – 6.

Our school’s specialist Indonesian program provides students with an introduction to Indonesian Language (Bahasa Indonesian) together with rich opportunities to learn about the different aspects of Indonesian culture.

We have a well-resourced Indonesian Language room, offering students a wealth of resources such as picture dictionaries, flash cards, charts and access to computers, laptops and iPads during their weekly lessons. Students have opportunities to reinforce their reading, writing, speaking and listening using Language Nut, an online, language-based learning program designed to make them independent learners.

Baler Primary School is pleased to foster a sister school relationship with a school in Bali. This partnership has been set-up in close alignment with the school’s Language curriculum and intends to build the capacity for students to engage contextually with native speakers.
