At Baler Primary School, all students are encouraged to develop their confidence, curiosity, imagination, and artistic abilities in Visual Arts class. In this subject, students make and respond to artworks often using past and current artists as sources of inspiration. They learn how to apply and manipulate the elements of colour, form, line, shape, space, texture, and value to create interesting and visually appealing work. Principles of design (balance, emphasis, movement, pattern & repetition, proportion, rhythm, unity and variety) are also considered when creating and talking about artwork. Students have the opportunity to explore a variety of different mediums, and experiment with different effects.
