NAIDOC offers the opportunity to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is important to continue to remember the lessons of the past and to do our part to actively create meaningful dialogue and keep the indigenous cultures alive within the school community. Baler Primary Schools motto is ‘a sea of cultures’ and as such we actively seek ways to embed culture into our teaching and learning programs, in order to celebrate and respect the diversity within our school. NAIDOC week is one of the highlights of our school year and is a time when our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children get to shine and be proud of their heritage.
