Baler Primary School is diverse and progressive in its development of Visual Arts processes and curriculum. The students from Pre-primary to Year Six work on expanding their understanding of Visual Art knowledge, concepts and skills in order to produce examples of a wide range of Visual Art forms. The Visual Art program at Baler Primary School promotes the development of our students’ artistic ability and appreciation for a variety of Visual Art forms and styles that derive from Art elements and forms. We explore the use of various line styles in abstract and realistic illustrations, as well as investigate a variety of portraiture drawing techniques. Recently, a visiting sculptural artist inspired and guided students from Baler Primary in creating a tactile animal sculpture that are on exhibition at the Port Hedland Art Gallery. The development and integration of digital tools to extend the students’ ability in exploring and producing digital art is continually being promoted.
